Initial Health & Veterinary Examination

Seller represents that, to the best of Seller's knowledge, the puppy is in good health at transfer.

Buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of taking possession.

  • If the veterinarian identifies a serious illness or condition that, in the veterinarian's written opinion, was present before transfer and makes the puppy medically unsuitable as a companion animal, Buyer must notify Seller within 24 hours of diagnosis and provide the written veterinary findings.
  • Buyer should contact Seller before authorizing major non-emergency treatment related to a potential claim whenever reasonably possible.
  • Seller may request a second veterinary opinion. If Seller requires a second opinion, Seller will pay the examination fee for that second opinion.
  • Buyer is responsible for routine veterinary expenses, follow-up vaccinations, medications, transportation, and ordinary care after transfer unless this Agreement expressly states otherwise.

Five-Year Genetic Health Guarantee

For five (5) years from the puppy's date of birth, KB Goldstar Cavapoos guarantees the puppy against serious hereditary or congenital conditions that are diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian and that materially and permanently impair the dog's normal quality of life or are terminal.

Examples may include, when confirmed to be hereditary or congenital in origin, serious cardiac disease, severe orthopedic disease such as qualifying hip dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), or other debilitating inherited disorders. These examples are illustrative only.

Claim Requirements

  • Submit the claim in writing within 30 days after diagnosis.
  • Provide the veterinarian's written diagnosis, relevant medical records, testing, imaging, laboratory results, and contact information.
  • The puppy must be identifiable as the puppy covered by this Agreement, including by microchip number when available.
  • If the puppy dies and a hereditary or congenital cause is suspected, Seller may require a necropsy or other reasonable diagnostic evidence. Unless otherwise agreed, the initial diagnostic cost is Buyer's responsibility.
  • Seller may request a second opinion from another licensed veterinarian before approving the claim.

Remedy

If a qualifying hereditary or congenital condition is confirmed, Seller will offer a replacement puppy of comparable value, subject to availability.

The original dog does not automatically have to be returned unless Buyer and Seller mutually agree otherwise.

Seller does not reimburse veterinary bills, surgery, diagnostics, medication, travel, boarding, training, taxes, or other expenses unless specifically agreed in writing.

Seller's total obligation under this Guarantee will not exceed the original purchase price of the puppy.

A replacement puppy may require a reasonable waiting period based on litter availability.

Conditions & Exclusions

This Guarantee does not cover conditions that are minor, cosmetic, developmental, acquired after transfer, primarily environmental, or that do not materially impair the dog's quality of life. Unless specifically agreed in writing, exclusions include:

  • Accidents, trauma, poisoning, ingestion of foreign objects, abuse, neglect, or preventable injury.
  • Contagious or infectious illness acquired after transfer, and common intestinal or external parasites, including giardia or coccidia.
  • Umbilical or inguinal hernias; retained testicles; overbite or underbite; cosmetic defects; coat type, shedding, adult size or weight, color changes, markings, or other appearance traits.
  • Allergies, food sensitivities, adverse vaccine or medication reactions, or conditions that can be reasonably managed without permanent loss of quality of life.
  • Behavioral, temperament, training, breeding, fertility, show, service-dog, or performance outcomes.
  • Conditions caused or materially worsened by obesity, malnutrition, improper supplementation, inappropriate exercise, lack of reasonable veterinary care, or failure to follow veterinary recommendations.
  • Any veterinary, dental, surgical, rehabilitation, travel, transportation, boarding, cremation, necropsy, or other expense except where Seller expressly agrees in writing.

Buyer Responsibilities

  • Provide routine veterinary care, recommended vaccinations, parasite prevention, appropriate nutrition, weight management, age-appropriate exercise, and prompt treatment for illness or injury.
  • Keep complete veterinary records and provide relevant records when submitting a claim.
  • Follow the puppy's individualized care record and consult a licensed veterinarian regarding vaccination timing, rabies vaccination, parasite prevention, and health concerns.
  • Maintain the dog in a safe environment and protect the puppy from unnecessary infectious-disease exposure while its vaccination series is incomplete.
  • Provide truthful and complete information relating to any health claim.

Ownership, Transfer & Scope

This 5-Year Genetic Health Guarantee applies only to the original Buyer named in this Agreement and is non-transferable.

If the dog is sold, gifted, or permanently transferred to another owner, the contractual guarantee ends unless Seller agrees otherwise in writing.

This Guarantee is not pet insurance. It provides a defined remedy for qualifying hereditary or congenital disease, not routine or unexpected veterinary costs.

General Agreement Terms

  • This Buyer Agreement and 5-Year Genetic Health Guarantee constitute the parties' complete agreement regarding the sale and health guarantee and supersede prior oral representations on those subjects.
  • Any amendment or exception must be in writing and agreed to by both Buyer and Seller.
  • This Agreement is governed by Kentucky law. Nothing here is intended to waive any right or remedy that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive.
  • If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Important Puppy Care

Young puppies can be vulnerable to low blood sugar.

Provide appropriate access to food and water and consult your veterinarian about feeding frequency.

Limit exposure to unknown or unvaccinated animals and high-risk public areas until your veterinarian advises that the puppy's vaccination series provides adequate protection.

Vaccination & Preventive Care

Seller will provide the puppy's available vaccination and deworming record at transfer. The schedule below reflects KB Goldstar's current puppy-care protocol and may be adjusted under veterinary direction.

  • 5 weeks — NeoPar
  • 6 weeks — Neovac
  • 7 weeks — NeoPar
  • 8 weeks — Neovac
  • 12 weeks — Vaccination at veterinarian
  • 16 weeks — Rabies - consult veterinarian

Deworming / parasite protocol: Approximately 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 weeks with Pyrantel and Panacur on an alternating schedule. KB Goldstar's current protocol also includes Secnidazole and Ponazuril at approximately 4 and 6 weeks. Follow the puppy's individual health record and your veterinarian's guidance.
